Our Guard Llamas: # Are good for predator discouragement for low to medium threats such as fox, one or two dogs or coyotes. # Are NOT able to protect against large dog packs, wolves, bear, or other major predators. # Are proven on our farm to bond with sheep. # Are former 4H animals, so they are halter broke and well handled. # They have also been exposed to horses, chickens, pigs, and cattle. # Are electric fence trained. # Have a long working life of 10-20 years. # Do not require a special diet as they graze with the the other animals. # Do not require special shelter, unless the weather is really bad they stay out and graze. # Good fences are NOT an option. Tight fencing is critical to keep your animals in and predators out. |
